The CI holds debates and training events.
The debates have the format of
conferences and
roundtables where issues of current importance are discussed by experts, journalists, political activists, NGO actors, diplomats and academics.
Every April the CI holds its Caucasus Conference at which the previous year in the Caucasus is summed up from various perspectives: domestic and foreign policy, social development, economic trends, nation building, etc. We also hold conferences on topics of major regional importance – religion, migration, Diaspora, etc. With Russian and English as their working languages, the CI conferences attract a wide and varied audience and get extensive media coverage. Conference materials are later published as books.
CI roundtables are held in the CI main hall. The topics for the roundtable discussions are related to current affairs. A roundtable usually starts with a 15-minute presentation by an expert followed by a discussion.
CI training events are
workshops usually with invited trainers from abroad. Workshops are intended for CI students but also for students of other universities and others who apply to take part. Applications for participation in workshops are accepted by email.
